Dear readers,
I am currently working on a novelette with the preliminary title – Esteban. I am hopeful for an early summer release if all goes well, and to be honest it seems to be writing itself.
It is the first title in what I hope will become a popular series, based in the horror fiction genre.
Today should see the fanpage go up on Facebook, where people will be able to read the introduction and sign up for release date notification. I have seen this method used before and strongly suggest other authors try it.
I have put the first chapter/prelude online and you can read it here. I suggest you right click on that link and save it to your computer before reading it, as I have used the full-screen and double-page PDF effects, which may not display properly when viewed online.
As always, I would appreciate any feedback you have, so don’t hesitate to leave me a comment below.
Regards,
Colin Palfrey

Hi Ron,
I have left that out on purpose. Full explanations for the behavior of the characters will follow in the next chapter. As to where we go next…the past!
Cheers,
Colin Palfrey
I liked it and it leaves me wondering where you will go next with it. One small thing I noticed that was inconsistent and left me wondering if it was intentional or an oversight. You describe him as forgettable but have numerous people who remember him when it is necessary for an alibi. If it was intentional I might draw attention to it by say something like “amazingly” to draw attention to the contrast and indicate it is not an unintentional contradiction. I hope when someone beta reads my stuff that will be the worst they find to comment on.
Your new book sounds interesting. I am currently working a book of short stories. Thank you for sharing. Cheer’s
